Soltero’s room and interesting events
If you go Intramuros and then go to San Agustin Church right across it is Casa Manila. As you cross take note of the cobbled street - Calle Real del Palacio (Gen Luna street) - it is probably the last remaining Spanish road in Intramuros, maybe even in Metro Manila. Casa Manila is a reconstruction of a 19th Century Manila residence (of a very rich Manileno family). The museum holds a lot of interesting things - an old icebox (refrigerator) cooled by ice imported from North America, a conjugal loo, and an array of other things. I am reminded of Casa Manila now because as you go up the stairs you will encounter a room for the Bachelor Uncle. It is one of the first room in the house and somewhat detached from the rooms where the family stays. This is because the bachelor uncle is often the one who comes in late (among other things), hence the need for a room somewhat autonomous from the rest of the house. Our house although not as old in theme as Casa Manila is somewhat like that the rooms of the soltero uncles are more closer to the street and distant from the other rooms in the house. My brother came in an hour ago. He forgot his keys and woke me up to open the door. And now that I am awake I instinctively opened the computer and began doing some stuff on the Web. And found one or two interesting stuff on the Web. One of them is that Jayvee is organizing a Blogger Wine and Cheese Night.
