The past week has been an epiphany or rather several epiphanies of sorts to me. Met up and broke bread with several people last week…

But before that one announcement.

As I was narrating, I met several people the past few weeks. Mostly friends, both old and new: silver and gold. And here are some randomn thoughts that came to mind.

Friendship travels through a long winding road called life. At one point one picks-up someone and travel part of the way. It may be a short or long journey. One of the important thing about is not the length of the experience but the quality of it. And the next most important thing to remember about this road is that it transects and crosses so much that you will probably meet that person again sooner or later.

We are often less guarded with our emotions with friends. This is good but sometimes unintentionally hurt the ones we love.

I abhor the use of the word should, because it smacks of imposing one’s belief on another. But I will use it in this occassion. Friendship should exist between Parents and children; brothers and sisters; and Man & Wife.

True Friendship is color, gender, age and status blind.

True Friendship is frank but also observes tact and gives respect.

True Friendship is a love that seeks nothing and want nothing save friendship itself.

And yes to the person who asked me this question last night. Friends are a great comfort as one grows old. As the Beatle’s song goes, “I get by with a little help from my friends.”
