Boo!
Halloween, All Souls Day has always been associated with the dead and things that go bump in the night. It just seem so appropriate that this bit of news should say boo in the Pinoy blogosphere. Read this post, Filipino Catholics petition against Bryanboy, last night at Abe’s blog Yugatech.com. Mike Abundo also took notice of said petition. The Ghouls and Spooks who authored this petition, last time I looked there were eight who signed, seem to be (a) sipping too much witches’ brew, or (b)overdid the dancing naked bit before a full moon, or (c)just in it generate interest. And to a moderate degree it has. Whatever the reason - psychotic, demonic possession, mammon (greed), or just plain hobgobliness - it was for all intent and purposes entertainment for Halloween. Anyway that is what I think. A case of on-line trick or treat.
For more cinematic treats this Halloween and All Soul’s Day celebration a few movies can be downloaded from the Internet via bittorent, most are in Public Domain.
For those who love Filipino movies read this entry, Gerardo de Leon: Two vampire films, from Noel Vera’s blog Critic After Dark. Two more Vampire films to put on the wish list. Someday.
By the way did you know we have a “Fish Cemetery” in Dagupan? news article on the Philippine Daily Inquirer and reaction from piscinarii.com
well my brothers, i find that many are offended by much latley?..I am an mexican american, and have also been offended by fools.
I have come to the conclussion that, regaurdless of where you stand on issues?, there are those who will get offended..
I am more offended by the fact that people have accepted that fact that every image of jesus, or anyother figure of the bible?, is that of a white man…
Just as you have allowed the blonde hair blue eyed man to choose what was put into the bible, you have also been seduced into thinking all is white!!! You have allowed them to take away your indentity in world affairs as well as religion..
I ask you this? with all that we have achieved in technology and our thirst for more and more, we have all fallen far away from the true god and his true plan..
And with all the problems that technology has brought to us, is it not wise to see?, that convinence is not always good.
What will it take to open our eyes to what is really important in life and what is illusion.. You would think that with all we have in our hands now..”TECHNOLOGY” that it would bring us closer together as a human race, but it is ripping us apart, “dividing us all.”
Not only are we at war with others, we are also at war with eachother. I am not saying that we must agree with eachother, but i find that the only cure for this epidemic that is plaguing our inner souls, is true compassion for one another.
We must not be angered by misguided souls, but must show compassion for them in hopes that there eyes will be opened to the truth.
may the true god bless us all with love:: R.serna “U.S.A.”
R. Serna, Interesting points. I think it is important to remember that Technology is a tool of man and man should not be a tool of technology. Technology has brought us comfort and ease but not solution nor salvation. Like those before us solution and salvation must come from within. It is within the individual that the solution and salvation lies.
